About The NE & Yorkshire Youth Sailing Association
The association organises the long running youth traveller series in the region. Other events are also organised, such as regional team racing and race coaching. The Association also takes teams to regional and national events, such as the National Schools' Sailing Association annual regatta and team racing competitions.
The association objective is to promote competitive racing events, friendship, quality sailing skills and personal growth.
The long running and very successful youth traveller series offers opportunity to young sailors in the region in all classes to sail against their peers on a handicap basis.
Experiencing a variety of sailing venues is a key element in developing high quality sailing skills that will last a lifetime. (Travelling is also an opportunity to make great friends who also last a lifetime).
The association is a supportive, inclusive opportunity for all to race, those at the front are regularly competing in their chosen class at (inter)national level; those at the back may be venturing onto the race course for the first time.
All are welcome and the association strongly believes that the peer support out on the water and on-shore is invaluable and represents and celebrates the essence of our sport.
